Priyanka Chopra who promoted her film, Pahuna: The Little Visitors at
the Toronto International Film Festival said something that has offended many
people in Sikkim.
In a recent interview in Toronto, Priyanka said, "Sikkim is a
small state in the Northeast of India which never had a film industry of its
own or anyone who made films from there and this is the first film ever that
came out from this region because it is very troubled by insurgency …”
Oops! And there it was, trolls were at it as PeeCee received a lot of backlash for her
statement. Following are the comments on the video that recently went viral:
One of the users said, “Priyanka Chopra please get your facts correct, there has never
been an insurgency problem in Sikkim. Sikkim is the most peaceful state in the
Indian union”

While one more user wrote, “Little knowledge is dangerous…I heard tourism
department has funded the logistics for her cast & crew….It’s also wrong to
say no body has ever made a flim from Sikkim…”
